1. Plastic modification
Filling modification: Fillers such as calcium carbonate, talcum powder and glass fibre are evenly mixed with plastics (e.g. PP, PA, ABS) to enhance the rigidity and heat resistance of the material or reduce the cost.
Application examples: glass fibre reinforced nylon is used for automotive parts, electrical appliance housings.
Reinforcement modification: Through the high shear dispersion of the twin screw, the fibres (e.g. carbon fibre, glass fibre) are evenly distributed to improve the mechanical strength of the material.
Flame retardant/antistatic modification: mixing flame retardant (e.g. bromine system, phosphorus system) or conductive filler (e.g. carbon black, metal powder) with the base material, which is used for electronic and electrical appliances, and building fireproof materials.
2. Blending and granulation
Alloy materials: such as PC/ABS, TPE/TPU and other polymer alloys, through the strong shear and mixing effect of the twin-screw to achieve microscopic phase regulation.
Masterbatch/functional masterbatch: The high dispersibility of the twin-screw ensures the uniform distribution of pigments or functional additives (e.g. anti-UV, anti-bacterial agents), which are used for colouring or modification of high-quality plastic products.

Polymerisation: e.g. PET polycondensation, PA6 in-situ polymerisation, twin-screw provides controllable reaction temperature and residence time.
Graft modification: e.g. maleic anhydride (MAH) grafted POE, used to bulk up incompatible polymer blends.
Dynamic vulcanisation: Preparation of thermoplastic elastomers (TPV), e.g. EPDM/PP dynamic vulcanised rubber for automotive seals, hoses.
4. Food & Pharmaceutical
Food extrusion: production of breakfast cereals, pet feed, vegetable protein meat (organised proteins), twin-screw regulation of expansion and taste.
Pharmaceutical pelletising: mixing and pelletising of active ingredients and excipients for tablets or slow-release formulations, ensuring uniformity and stability of ingredients.
5. Speciality materials
