The lamination (extrusion coating) process is mainly used to coat one or multiple layers of plastic (such as PE, PP, EVA, etc.) onto substrates such as paper, non-woven fabric, aluminum foil, or plastic film. This enhances properties such as water resistance, oil resistance, heat resistance, and barrier protection.
I. Lamination Process Flow
1. Substrate Unwinding: The unwinder feeds paper, non-woven fabric, or other substrates into the production line.
2. Corona Treatment (Optional): Enhances the adhesion of plastic to the substrate.
3. Extrusion Melting: The extruder heats and melts plastic granules into a uniform molten state.
4. T-die Extrusion: The molten plastic is evenly coated onto the substrate through the T-die.
5. Cooling & Laminating: Cooling rollers solidify the plastic and bond it firmly to the substrate.
6. Tension Control: Ensures uniform coating and maintains proper tension.
7. Rewinding or Cutting: The finished product is either rewound or cut to specific sizes as needed.

Advantages of Single-layer and Multi-layer Lamination Equipment
Lamination equipment is widely used in food packaging, industrial packaging, waterproof materials, and other applications. Below are the key advantages of single-layer and multi-layer lamination equipment:
I. Advantages of Single-layer Lamination Equipment
Suitable for basic waterproof and oil-resistant packaging, such as paper cups and food packaging bags.
1. Lower Equipment Investment Cost Compared to multi-layer lamination equipment, single-layer machines have a simpler structure, resulting in lower equipment and maintenance costs.
2. Easy Operation & Maintenance High automation level with a user-friendly interface and minimal maintenance requirements.
3. High Production Efficiency Fast production speeds make it suitable for mass production, meeting standard packaging needs.
4. Wide Range of Applications Can be used with various substrates, such as paper, non-woven fabric, aluminum foil, and plastic films.
5. Eco-friendly & Energy-saving Advanced extrusion systems optimize energy consumption, improve material utilization, and reduce waste.
II. Advantages of Multi-layer Lamination Equipment
Suitable for high-barrier and multifunctional composite materials, such as milk packaging and aluminum-plastic composite packaging.
1. Enhanced Product Functionality
Provides moisture resistance, heat resistance, oil resistance, and gas barrier properties for high-end packaging applications.
Uses a combination of different materials (such as PE/EVA/PP) to improve physical and chemical performance.
2. Co-extrusion Technology for Better Adhesion
Multiple extruders work together to achieve optimal layering and bonding between different material layers.
3. Cost Savings & Higher Economic Benefits
Reduces the use of expensive materials (such as aluminum foil and high-barrier resins) through multi-layer co-extrusion, lowering overall production costs.
4. Broad Application Scope
Can process laminated materials of varying thicknesses and structures, suitable for food, pharmaceutical, and industrial packaging.
5. High Automation & Intelligent Control
Equipped with a PLC control system to automatically adjust thickness, speed, and tension, ensuring stable production.
Features an online inspection system to maintain product quality consistency.
